SRPK1 inhibition keeps SRSF1 in the cytoplasm and, as a result, decreases the ability of the prostate cancer cell line PC-3 to form tumours in mouse xenografts, probably through changed patterns of VEGF mRNA splicing depriving prostate cancer cells from developing a blood supply (Mavrou et al. 2015). This evidence concerns the gene SRSF1 and Familial prostate cancer.
