SOD1 and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis: All seven therapeutics, which include celexocib (Cudkowicz et al., 2006), erythropoietin (Lauria et al., 2009, 2015), glatiramer acetate (Gordon et al., 2006; Meininger et al., 2009), minocycline (Gordon et al., 2004, 2007; Pontieri et al., 2005), NP001 (Miller et al., 2014, 2015), pioglitazone (Dupuis et al., 2012), and valproic acid (Piepers et al., 2009) have demonstrated preclinical efficacy in the SOD1 rodent models of ALS.
