Several studies have indicated that he over-expression of EFEMP1 could inhibit the tumorigenicity of fibrosarcoma cells, while down- expression of EFEMP1 or EFEMP1 promoter methylation occurred in many cancers [16], and played important promoting or inhibiting growth roles in cancers [17], however, till now, just one population- based study [9] has examined the susceptibility of EFEMP1 gene with diseases. The gene discussed is EFEMP1; the disease is cancer.
