Patients with bacteremia showed higher serum concentrations of CRP [242 (156–292) vs 152 (60–147) mg/l, p = 0,017) and PCT [6,0 (1,3–29,3) vs 1,0 (0,7–12,3) ng/ml, p = 0,013] than those without it. The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is bacterial infectious disease with sepsis.
