(2007) identified 16 broad and 16 focal events in GBM, which harboured some of the crucial oncogenes and tumour suppressor genes such as TP53, RB1, CDKN2A/B, PTEN, EGFR, PDGFRA, MET, CDK4, CDK6, MDM2, MDM4 and MYC and some novel to GBM such as MYCN, PIK3CA, CCND2, KRAS and CHD5 (Beroukhim et al., 2007). This evidence concerns the gene CDKN2A and glioblastoma.
