To synchronize the onset and accelerate the development of IBD, IL‐10−/− mice were administered piroxicam/NSAID in chow (Berg et al. 2002). Like DSS‐induced acute IBD, pharmacological inhibition of TAK1 exhibited profound recovery in IL‐10−/− mice from piroxicam‐mediated colon mucosal pathogenesis.
