A test with a mice xenograft mouse model of CRC showed that the combination of resveratrol and curcumin (at doses of 50 and 500 mg/kg, respectively, administered by gavage for 3 weeks) is highly effective in inhibiting tumor growth and stimulating apoptosis of CRC cells in vivo, through attenuation of NF-κB activity (Table 1; Majumdar et al., 2009). This evidence concerns the gene NFKB1 and colorectal carcinoma.
