S100B and Seizure: In conclusion, the 6-week application of ear ES and EA at ST36–ST37 led to decreased COX-2 levels in the CA1 region as well as lowered astrocyte counts and S100-B levels in the hippocampus, suggesting that long-term ear ES or long-term EA at ST36–ST37 may produce an anti-inflammatory response in KA-induced epileptic seizure rats.
