Recent studies reported that DR6 expression is upregulated in neurodegenerative disease such as Alzheimer's disease (AD) and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and the upregulated expression of DR6 may contribute to the pathogenesis of these neurodegenerative disorders [37, 38]. This evidence concerns the gene TNFRSF21 and early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
