To investigate whether LOX-1 expression is correlated with GC development and progression, we first analyzed the two independent mRNA microarray analyses from GSE27342 database and TCGA cohort, and surprisingly found the mRNA expression of LOX-1 was significantly up-regulated in the GC tissues in both GSE27342 database (0.638 ± 0.789 vs 0.234 ± 0.293; P < 0.001; Fig. 1a) and TCGA cohort (1.411 ± 0.850 vs 0.340 ± 0.239; P < 0.001; Fig. 1b). This evidence concerns the gene OLR1 and gastric cancer.
