CAD and mastitis: CPS (other than Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus hyicus/Staphylococcus agnetis) are rarely isolated from ruminant mastitis (25), whereas CNS are often isolated and described as opportunistic pathogens (20), and S. chromogenes (found in this study) is one of the most commonly isolated CNS species in mastitis (25).
