The results showed that urinary [TIMP-2] × [IGFBP7] yields an AUC of 0.8 for predicting the development of AKI (Kidney Disease: Improving Global Outcomes [KDIGO] stage 2 or 3) within 12 h, indicating its superiority over 340 previously studied AKI proteins. The gene discussed is TIMP2; the disease is acute kidney injury.
