In this report, we exploit the myelinating co-cultures to show that both mouse IgG and human, neuropathy-associated IgM type anti-disialosyl antibodies bind to human iPSC-derived sensory axons at the nodal axolemma and, in addition to inducing acute complement mediated axonal degeneration, have deleterious, complement-independent effects on myelination. The gene discussed is CD40LG; the disease is neuropathy.
