AFP and diabetes mellitus: After adjusting in the multivariate model, presence of DM (HR 1.45, 95% CI 1.08–1.93, p = 0.013), higher serum bilirubin (HR 1.27, 95% CI 1.07–1.52, p = 0.008), higher serum AFP (HR 1.34, 95% CI 1.20–1.48, p< 0.001), lower serum albumin (HR 1.82, 95% CI 1.37–2.38, p<0.001), and lower eGFR (HR 1.11, 95% CI 1.04–1.19, p = 0.001), lower platelet count (HR 1.03, 95% CI 1.0–1.05, p = 0.029) were confirmed as independent predictors of a decreased survival rate.
