As shown in Table 5, concentrations of insulin and glucose in serum were significantly higher in the HFD group (188% and 133%, respectively) than that in the ND group, while concentration of adiponectin decreased to 96% of that in mice in the ND group, which indicated that HFD-induced obese mice exhibited a typical symptom of diabetes, i.e., insulin resistance.
