Our data showed that patients with NAFLD had higher levels of body mass index (BMI), waist-to-hip ratio (WHR), trunk fat percentage and serum ALT, fasting glucose, homeostatic model assessment-insulin resistance (HOMA-IR), triglycerides (TG) and uric acid (UA) as well as a high prevalence of high blood pressure (HBP) and diabetes mellitus (DM), but they had lower physical activities and serum high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) than did those with non-NAFLD in both the female and male groups. The gene discussed is GPT; the disease is hypertensive disorder.
