In this study we show that a polymorphism at TLR2 (rs3804099) previouslyassociated with leprosy type 1 reaction, was positively associated with increased risk fordeveloping leprosy per se in a population from Northeast Brazil.Additionally, there were an association between carriage different alleles at genesTLR1, 2 and 4 and serum level ofcytokines and chemokines across leprosy spectrum. The gene discussed is TLR2; the disease is leprosy.
