Similar associations were also found for several genes coding for type I IFNs, i.e., IFNA1, IFNA2, IFNA14 and IFNB1. Evaluation of RNA-Seq data for different cell types [21] (Additional file 2: Dataset S1) showed that tumor-associated T cells (TATs) express IFNG at relatively high levels (TPM = 10–100), while TAMs and tumor cells do not (Fig. 6b). The gene discussed is IFNA14; the disease is neoplasm.
