Cortical expression of FADD forms (i.e., pro-apoptotic FADD and anti-apoptotic p-FADD) were measured in postmortem tissue samples from a large cohort of community-dwelling participants of the Memory and Aging Project (MAP) [32], with or without clinical diagnosis of dementia, and representative of the broad range of cognitive impairment in the overall elderly, aging population. The gene discussed is FADD; the disease is dementia.
