ALB and malnutrition: As expected, subjects with malnutrition had a significantly lower body mass index (BMI; 23.4 ± 6.4 vs. 25.6 ± 7.3; p < 0.001), serum albumin (26.0; 22.1–33.0 vs. 32.5; 25.4–36.3 g/L; p < 0.0001), and were older, as compared to well-nourished patients (73.0 ± 20.0 vs. 54.0 ± 22.3 years; p < 0.0001).
