IL10 and parasitic infectious disease: IL-10-deficient mice infected with a non-lethal P. yoelii strain exhibited lower parasitemia (9), and ablation of IL-10 receptor (IL-10R) signaling resulted in decreased parasite burden in C57BL/6 mice infected with a virulent P. yoelii strain (10), underlining the importance of IL-10 in the regulation of immune responses during malaria infection.
