EGFR and gastric cancer: Then we did some preclinical studies to explore whether cetuximab could enhance the activities of irinotecan on gastric cancer cell lines, and the results showed significant potentiation of antiproliferative, apoptosis and G2/M phase arrest effects in response to the addition of cetuximab to irinotecan in GC cell lines via the downregulation of the EGFR pathway upregulated by irinotecan [12].
