Consistent with our results, a recent study found that the ectopic expression of miR-137 in glioma cell lines significantly inhibits glioma-driven angiogenesis.12 miRNAs bind to the 3′-untranslated region of target messenger RNA to inhibit gene expression posttranscriptionally.21 DCLK1,45 SP148 and CUL4A49 are confirmed targets of miR-137. The gene discussed is DCLK1; the disease is central nervous system cancer.
