Therefore, we focused on the first three identified COPD GWAS genes, which have the strongest association signals: IREB2 (iron responsive element binding protein 2), HHIP (hedgehog interacting protein) and FAM13A (family with sequence similarity 13 member A)6, for which multiple omics datasets have been previously generated.
