LECT2 and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency: Cross-sectional studies in humans have also demonstrated that serum LECT2 levels were positively correlated with body mass index (BMI), waist circumference (WC), and homeostasis model assessment-insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) [9], suggesting that LECT2 possibly plays a role in the development of obesity-induced insulin resistance even in humans.
