In this cross-sectional study, the expression of IL-17A was evaluated in myocardial samples from 14 end-stage heart failure CCC patients, 8 end-stage heart failure patients with noninflammatory cardiomyopathies (5 patients with idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy and 3 patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy, all seronegative for T. cruzi), and 6 nonfailing donor hearts. Here, IL17A is linked to cardiomyopathy.
