We obtained data for three of the most frequently mutated genes in lung cancers, namely tumor protein p53 (TP53, mutated in ~40–50% of NSCLC19, 20), epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR, mutated in ~10–50% of NSCLC21), and phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN, mutated in ~5% of NSCLC19) (Supplementary Table S3). This evidence concerns the gene EGFR and lung carcinoma.
