Guo et al. [63] have recently demonstrated that rs7463708, a prostate cancer risk-associated SNP located 78 kb downstream of the PCAT1 transcription start site (TSS), modulated the activity of PCAT1 enhancer, resulting in an increased PCAT1 expression and consequently, an increased PCa cell proliferation and tumor growth both in in vitro and in vivo system. Here, PCAT1 is linked to prostate cancer.
