Consistent with DCTYB mRNA levels, quantification of immunohistochemical staining in breast epithelial cells revealed that DCYTB protein was significantly reduced in invasive ductal carcinoma breast cancers (n = 60) as compared to normal adjacent breast epithelial tissue (n = 3) (p = .019, Additional file 1: Figure S8).
