Furthermore, similar amounts of lumbar P2X7 protein were present in spinal cords from WT and SOD1G93A mice at all investigated time points in the current study, while P2X7 immunoreactvities have been reported to be increased in spinal cords from (post-mortem) humans with ALS and advanced-stage transgenic SOD1G93A rats (Casanovas et al., 2008; Yiangou et al., 2006).
