Given the upregulated Galectin-3 level in Runx2 upregulated HepG2 cells, and downregulation in Runx2 knockdown SMMC7721 cells, we then performed a Galectin-3 gene LGALS3 knockdown in HepG2-Runx2, and an upregulation in SMMC7721-shRunx cells to determine whether Galectin-3 is responsible for the effect of Runx2 expression on EMT and VM in HCC cells. Here, RUNX2 is linked to hepatocellular carcinoma.
