Recently, a study reported that NCOA1 worked with hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF1α) and AP-1 (c-Jun/c-Fos) to promote vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF, also termed VEGFa) expression in breast cancer cells and drove breast tumor angiogenesis in both mouse and human breast tumors, which suggested that NCOA1-promoted breast cancer metastasis might be related to its role in angiogenesis [27]. This evidence concerns the gene FOS and breast carcinoma.
