DSBs induced by the restriction enzyme and p53 induced by Nutlin-3 resulted in transcriptional changes of genes belonging to similar groups (Fig. 2d–k) such as induction of “p53 signaling pathway”, “pathways in cancer” and inflammatory responses involving TNF signaling and repression of “mitotic cell cycle”, “G2/M checkpoint” and “E2F targets”.
