PROM1 and hepatocellular carcinoma: In the present study, we have found that CD133-positive HCC cells control intracellular ROS level via the upregulating of GSH and sulfasalazine (SASP) not only alleviates ROS defense capacity but also increases the therapeutic efficacy of conventional anticancer therapy in CD133-positive HCC cells but not in CD133-negative HCC cells in vivo and in vitro.
