In conclusion, the finding that there is an up-regulation of CXCL9, CXCL10 and CXCL11 in OLP compared to normal oral mucosa as well as in IFN-γ stimulated oral keratinocytes suggest that these chemokines may play a role in determining the inflammatory infiltrate of OLP, specifically in the migration of specific T cell subsets.
