The finding that nuclear expression of SRF in soft tissue metastases does not correlate with survival from diagnosis with prostate cancer, castration resistance or first bone metastasis is likely due to a combination of factors including the heterogeneity of prostate cancer metastases, features unique to the respective microenvironments as opposed to just differential bioavailability of docetaxel in various tissue types. The gene discussed is SRF; the disease is prostate carcinoma.
