SRF and other factors likely represent a marker of disease progression; a common denominator or a waypoint in the pathway through which docetaxel and androgen ablation therapies exert their therapeutic effect in prostate cancer (so that men receiving combination therapy in CHAARTED who have progressive disease, are likely to express high levels of SRF in their primary tumour and bone metastases.
