We focused on determining whether the levels of eCBs (i.e., AEA and 2-arachidonoylglycerol (2-AG)), the expression of the eCB synthesizing enzymes (N-acyl phosphatidylethanolamine phospholipase D (NAPE-PLD) and diacylglycerol lipase α (DAGLα)), or eCB degrading enzymes (fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH) and monoacylglycerol lipase (MAGL)) were altered in particular models of depression. Here, NAPEPLD is linked to depressive symptom measurement.
