In colon tissues from UC and ulcerative colitis-associated colorectal cancer (CRC) subjects, miR-214 expression was significantly upregulated to activate inflammatory responses; colon injury could be further aggravated through the feedback loop mediated by PTEN and PDLIM2, and the transcription factors NF-κB and STAT3 could be regulated to influence the IL-6 expression level. This evidence concerns the gene PDLIM2 and colorectal carcinoma.
