Wang et al. [49] with PCR-SSCP identified A-G SNP at nucleotide 4525 in intron 1 of TLR4 gene and concluded that this variation might play an important role in bovine mastitis resistance and with the help of PCR-RFLP Deb et al. [50] observed the SNP (g9788 C>T) where CC genotype was more prevalent than TT among Frieswal crossbreed cattle, and C allele was observed to be favorable for mastitis resistance and may be used as one of the molecular marker. Here, TLR4 is linked to mastitis.
