Figure 4 shows that the activities of caspase 3 (A) and caspase 8 (B) were significantly up-regulated in the BLM alone group and the BLM + CISCFE-M combined group as compared to the model group (all p < 0.05). Furthermore, the combination of BLM + CISCFE-M had a statistically stronger effect than BLM alone (all p < 0.05). These results suggested that CISCFE combined with BLM enhanced the effect of BLM on caspase 3 and caspase 8 activities. The gene discussed is CASP3; the disease is Bloom syndrome.
