Moreover, we included 5 genes encoding proteins with a known function in macrophage biology and atherosclerosis from which we have previously shown in this study significant increased expression (Bonferroni-adjusted p-value < 0.001) on aorta macrophages after CIH exposures (Supplementary Table S5): Cd36 (logFC = 1.80), Abca1 (logFC = 1.12), Il6 (logFC = 1.38), Vcam (logFC = 1.98), and Nos2 (logFC = 1.07). This evidence concerns the gene CD36 and atherosclerosis.
