We analyzed associations between PFASs and thyroid hormones in the whole population (n = 202), and then in those subgroups with hyperthyroidism (n = 57), hypothyroidism (n = 17), Hashimoto’s disease (n = 109), and normal (n = 62) because prior studies suggest that susceptibility to PFASs may differ among these subgroups47. This evidence concerns the gene TG and hypothyroidism.
