Stratifying TCGA patients into four groups based on c-MET and MMP-2/TIMP-1 sum score showed that patients with both high c-MET and high sum score had significantly reduced survival compared to patients with low c-MET and low sum score (HR 1.51; 95% CI 1.17–1.94; p = 0.001) (Fig 5B), and this was augmented when adjusting for GBM subtype, age, and gender in the multivariate analysis (HR 1.73; 95% CI 1.27–2.35; p<0.001) (Table 5). This evidence concerns the gene MMP2 and glioblastoma.
