ZFP36 and breast carcinoma: Loss of ZFP36 correlated with poor patient outcomes in a number of studies of different cancers72, 73, 74, 75 and ZFP36 inhibited cancer cell proliferation.72 By contrast, elevated expression of HuR correlated with higher grade breast cancers (recently reviewed by Kotta‐Loizou et al.76), and might oppose ZFP36 in this context.
