It has been reported that STAT3 inactivation induces Skp2 downregulation and p27 upregulation in cervical and gastric cancer.34, 35 We investigated the molecular mechanisms underlying this phenomenon to determine whether STAT3 interacts with the Skp2/p27 pathway in simvastatin-treated HepG2 cells. The gene discussed is STAT3; the disease is gastric cancer.
