CD68 and atrial fibrillation: In a recent study it was demonstrated that atrial myocarditis coincides with certain types of ventricular myocarditis [41], but since we have no reports of ventricular myocarditis in our patients we are unable to relate an increased number of CD3+ and CD68-KP1+ cells in the left atria of AF group to an inflammatory process in other parts of the myocardium.
