Again, many other upregulated gene in coronary ECs, such as PTGS2, fibroblast growth factor 18 (FGF18), vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), intercellular adhesion molecule 1 (ICAM1), or platelet factor 4 (PF4), are selectively involved in the inflammatory pathways as mechanisms responsible of atherosclerosis (34–37). This evidence concerns the gene PF4 and atherosclerosis.
