In this regard, the role of MYC in controlling the regulatory networks of PSCs is particularly important as it is found up-regulated in up to the 70% of all human malignancies and, as commented in the previous sections, some of its regulated functions are shared between cancer and PSC, opening the possibility for therapeutic targeting (Dang, 2012; Ciriello et al., 2013; Gabay et al., 2014). This evidence concerns the gene MYC and cancer.
