IKBKG and lung carcinoma: In contrast to HCC, lung cancer is commonly driven by NF-κB signaling, resulting in cytokine induction, whereas in this model of HCC, abrogation of NF-κB signaling through NEMO deletion results in inflammatory cell death, which causes cancer progression (Luedde et al., 2007, Maeda et al., 2005, Meylan et al., 2009), implying divergent cancer etiologies for the two models.
