Within the GSEA two groups of upper GI samples were compared; the comparison of non-dysplastic Barrett’s esophagus (NDBE) to normal esophageal squamous epithelium (Sq) gave 47 pathways that were enriched in NDBE compared to Sq, of which 28 were significant and of these 21% included MUC1. This evidence concerns the gene MUC1 and esophageal adenocarcinoma.
